Lucid Dreaming is commonly known as conscious awareness during sleep. When you think about how to have a lucid dream, what you really want is to know that you're dreaming at a particular time, so you can get inside the dream and have some fun. In the dream state everything is possible, and the best part is that you can't get hurt!

When you have a lucid dream, it allows you to do almost anything you want. You can fly without a plane; have sexual encounters with the person of your choice; become the life of the party or whatever you want! And yes, with practice, anyone can learn how to have a lucid dream and begin to become a part of the dream world.

You see, as we sleep, our unconscious mind takes over and we start to think and ponder events which that we would like to happen, but probably will never happen in real life. As sleep sets in, you begin to dream. Most people don't become aware that they're dreaming unless they specifically try to. Usually at first you're not aware that you are dreaming.

But as you practice remembering your dreams, they will become more familiar. Then it becomes easier to have a lucid dream and start participating in it. Remembering your dreams is one step to being able to have a lucid dream. This isn't easy to do at first because the part of the subconscious mind that dreams has no memory. That's why you need to try to remember your dreams when you are just waking up - or you won't remember them at all.

A good lucid dreaming technique try is to attempt to have a lucid dream when you're more fully rested. If you work Monday through Friday, try to induce lucid dreaming early Sunday morning. In fact, the last sleep cycle before you awake in the morning is the longest dream cycle, and the best time to have a lucid dream. When you're not so tired, you have more control over what you will do when you become lucid. And that's where the fun comes in!
